June 11 - June 158Sporting ShotgunsIn the world of the shooting sports it is hard to find an arena that has exploded in the past few years like those that use the shotgun. Whether it is Trap, Skeet, or Sporting Clays, having a working knowledge of what the competitors are looking for and how to achieve those results can be very beneficial to today’s gunsmith. We will be covering what it takes to transform a field gun into one that is used for sports; we will also look at the most common modifications and upgrades. These include chokes, forcing cones, other barrel work, adjustable combs, gun fit, sight picture, point of impact, recoil reduction, and several other aspects. Students must supply their own shotgun for the class, an over/under is recommended but some semi-autos will work also. Please contact the instructor prior to registration so that we can discuss your projects. Ryan Newport, InstructorTOOL LIST6” adjustable wrench |
