This course will cover the steps you need to follow to set up a small business as well as the following:

  • Budgets
  • Basic keeping a check book, bank reconciliation, and identification of the expenses.
  • Reading a P&L and Balance Sheet; basic ratios and what they mean.
  • Breakeven point and pricing of product
    1. Sales Tax – applying for a number and figuring what is taxable
    2. Form 720 – Excise Tax and the Pitman-Robinson Act
    3. Applying for a FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number)
    4. Payroll and the associated Taxes – how to figure payroll and then filing out the tax forms, which inclue 941, 940, Colorado Withholding, and Colorado Unemployment Insurance.
