AR-15 Service Rifle Course
Course Description: The focus of this course will include the study of necessary modifications to convert the standard issue AR-15, into a match grade service rifle or varmint gun.
Basic Course Outline:
- Firearms operations
- Basic Disassemble and Assemble Procedure
- A look into match Guns
- Assembly of individual Firearms
- Safety Checks
- Test Firing/School Test Chamber
- Range Day
Tool List:
- Safety Glasses - OSHA Approved
- Screwdrivers - miscellaneous assortment designed to fit gun screws
- Small Hammer - 4oz brass or steel
- Small pin punches
- Metal files – Small assortment of small and medium metal cutting
- File Handles - one to fit each file
- Vise Jaws to protect work while holding in vise - (1/4" plywood lined with cork will do)
- Parts for you guns - Please go through the Brownells Book, select and order the appropriate parts for you gun. If you have no idea what you want to do contact Dave Nolan and Keith Gipson at Trinidad State Junior College and we would be happy to speak with you about your intentions for your firearms.
